MARTIN BISI (US)

Martin Bisi, New York musician, performer and record producer has been at a crossroads of indie/punk, experimental, and electronic music since early 80's. At BC Studio in Brooklyn, he has realized albums by Sonic Youth, Material/Bill Laswell, John Zorn, Swans, Afrika Bambaataa, Herbie Hancock's Rockit, Unsabe, Cop Shoot Cop, Boredoms, Foetus, Helmet, White Zombie, Dresden Dolls, Serena Maneesh.
Operating out of his Brooklyn studio, BC Studio, for almost 40 years now, Bisi has brought his style to a disparate slew of crucial albums, from hip-hop to noise-rock and beyond. An underground celeb behind the console, but Bisi has also been recording and releasing music of his own since 1988. His music is dense layers of sound combine in cacophonous and electrifying ways. Something like early Sonic Youth crossed with “Bitches Brew”, a stomping post-punk vibe churns beneath a wild array of tones and rhythms.

SECTE (BE)

Since 2018, GREGORY DUBY, guitar (K-BRANDING, JESUS IS MY SON, SOLAH) and DAVID.C, drums (VITAS GUERULAITIS, TAT2NOISACT) have been started their own cult (which is translated by 'secte' in french).
They've been in the noise scene for years and are based in cosmopolitan Brussels. They imagine oriental dunes on which DICK DALE would flirt with MUNIR BASHIR, ramble in a desert with a Turkish priesthood fed by THE DOORS, or the invocation of an ancient icon from Vilvoorde with a Syrian slide.
SECTE offers melodies from here and abroad, mixed with their own arrangements, as if a Cairo radio station were constantly spitting out its hits from the other side of the ring road. The duo nonchalantly oscillates between the influences of 75 DOLLAR BILL and POPOL VUH.
